Legal Help Western Australia

Western Australia Legal Aid delivers a wide range of legal assistance services in criminal, family and civil law matters. Some legal assistance is available free-of-charge to everyone, including through free brochures, information sessions or telephone legal advice.

The Women’s Law Centre provides free legal services for women in Western Australia. They provide information about legal issues and referral to support services, legal advice, casework, community legal education and law reform advocacy.

Legal Help Western Australia – Northern Region

Kimberley Community Legal Services offer legal services providing advice, information, casework and limited representation in the areas of family, civil, employment, tenancy and consumer credit. They also offer a range of outreach programs to other areas of the Northern region.

Pilbara Community Legal Service offers legal information, advice and casework services to individuals, as well as community legal education, law reform, and community-capacity building projects. They have four offices located in South Hedland, Karratha, Roebourne and Newman and run an outreach program specifically for women.

Legal Help Western Australia – Central Region

The Geraldton Resource Centre offers free legal information and advice covering most aspects of law.

Legal Help Western Australia – Southern Region

Northern Suburbs Community Legal Centre primarily grants the disadvantaged and low income earners in the Northern Suburbs access to legal services. They have two offices, one in Mirrabooka and the other at Edith Cowan University, Joondalup Campus.

Albany Community Legal Centre offers free and confidential legal advice to residents of the Lower Great Southern region of Western Australia.

The Bunbury Community Legal Centre is committed to delivering legal advice and information to low-income and disadvantaged people in the South West region of Western Australia.

The Fremantle Community Legal Centre provides legal information, advice and assistance to the community and limited representation regarding restraining orders at the Fremantle Magistrates Court.

Gosnells Community Legal Centre offers free, confidential, non-judgemental information, advice and assistance to low income earners.

Churchie Gender Summit

This week, Julie was invited to Churchie Anglican Grammar School to speak at the Year 9 Gender Summit. The Gender Summit saw boys from Year 9 welcome invited delegates from St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School, St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School, Somerville House, Moreton Bay College and Lourdes Hill College. The event engages young future leaders in issues surrounding gender equality, specifically examining the challenges that lie ahead for a more gender equitable Australia.
