Having a disability, or caring for someone with a disability, can present its own life challenges.  Whether you were born with a condition that makes you differently abled, or whether you have been in an accident, having a disability requires additional support and resources. 

At Clarity Road, we are here to help, with a list of disability services in Australia to access in times of need.

Connect the Dots is a service run by Clarity Road to help women affected by a life changing event to make sense of their situation. The service can help you to understand and take action on legal issues, Child Support, Centrelink, financial problems, counselling and more.

National Disability Services is the Australian peak body for non-government disability services. Through the provision of information, representation and policy advice, NDS promotes and advances services which support people with all forms of disability to participate in all domains of life.

Carers Australia is the national peak body representing Australia’s carers, advocating on behalf of Australia’s carers to influence policies and services at a national level. It works collaboratively with partners and its member organisations, the Network of state and territory Carers Associations, to deliver a range of essential national carer services.

My Time groups provide support for mothers, fathers, grandparents and anyone caring for a child with a disability or chronic medical condition.  It’s a place for you to unwind and talk about your experiences. It’s a world away from
appointments
and therapy. It’s support for you.

Parent 2 Parent is a not for profit organisation funded by Disability Services.  Run by Queensland parents, they have a passion to help others learn exciting and innovative ways to improve the life of their loved one with a disability.

Northcotte is one of Australia’s leading organisations providing programs and services for children and adults with disabilities and their families living in NSW and the ACT. Committed to building an inclusive society where people can live the life they choose, Northcott supports people with physical, intellectual and rare or lesser known disabilities to help develop independence, confidence and life skills.

Oak Tasmania provides services and programs that place a strong focus on working in partnership with people with disability and their families and carers.  They support people to reach their full potential at home, at work and in their community life.

Tascare Society for Children is committed to helping families with children and young people with disabilities find the information and support they need.

The Association for Children with a Disability – Whether you’re a parent, carer, sibling, family member or a professional who works with children with a disability and families, ACD can assist you to make the most of available services and supports.

Association for Children with a Disability provides information and support to families of children or young adults with any type of disability across NSW.

Action on Disability within Ethnic Communities is a state-wide organisation that strives to empower people with a disability from Non-English speaking backgrounds, their carers, and families to fully participate as members of the Victorian community.

E.Q. Tipping Foundation is one of the largest providers of services to people with a disability and young people who are vulnerable in Victoria.

Arafmi Queensland provides workshops to learn, develop and practice skills in Communication, Boundary Setting, Coping and many other areas for Mental Health Carers.

Churchie Gender Summit

This week, Julie was invited to Churchie Anglican Grammar School to speak at the Year 9 Gender Summit. The Gender Summit saw boys from Year 9 welcome invited delegates from St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School, St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School, Somerville House, Moreton Bay College and Lourdes Hill College. The event engages young future leaders in issues surrounding gender equality, specifically examining the challenges that lie ahead for a more gender equitable Australia.
